About the Non-Profit
The Science Student Success Centre (SSSC) of Carleton University is dedicated to helping undergraduate students in the Faculty of Science achieve their academic, career, and social goals. As the student hub of the Faculty of Science, the SSSC connects students with peers, faculty, staff, and industry professionals, fostering a supportive community through one-on-one relationships and shared successes. The SSSC's programs, driven by peer mentoring, focus on relationship building and personal growth, continuously evolving to meet the specific needs of science students. Operating on a volunteer model, the SSSC team, composed of top students held to high standards, collaborates to create impactful programming and support for the entire Faculty of Science community.
Our Solution
The Science Student Success Centre (SSSC) at Carleton University provides mentorship and academic resources to support students' growth and success. Currently, the manual processes involved in administering the mentorship programs are time-consuming and may result in inefficiencies. This project aims to enhance the mentorship program by streamlining operations, improving the coordination and allocation of academic resources, and ensuring that the program reaches more students effectively.
Key Components: Advanced algorithmic solutions will be implemented to automate certain operational tasks, optimizing resource distribution while considering availability, course compatibility, and other relevant factors.
