Technolgap

About the Non-Profit

Technolgap began as a student community at Carleton University in February 2020, founded by two students who were inspired by their experience at the Grace Hopper Celebration in 2019, they recognized a significant gap in the availability of information about tech opportunities for women. To address this, Technolgap was established as a platform for sharing hackathons, job postings, scholarships, and workshops among students, particularly women in tech in Ottawa.

As the community grew, it expanded its reach across Canada, offering mentorship programs and workshops tailored to the specific needs of women in tech. However, the community went dormant in 2022. In 2024, Anjali Patel, a former Events Organizer at Technolgap, took the initiative to revive the community. With a dedicated team, Technolgap are on a mission to rebrand and rebuild into a thriving platform for women+ in tech once again.

Our Solution

To support the revitalization of Technolgap, we are developing a new website that will serve as the digital backbone of the community. This website will be the cornerstone of Technolgap’s rebranding efforts, offering a comprehensive platform for members to access resources, connect with one another, and stay informed about upcoming opportunities.

Key Components:
  • Navigation Bar: An intuitive and easy-to-navigate menu guiding users to various sections of the website.
  • Home Page: Featuring buttons for Sponsors and Conferences, and displaying statistics that highlight the impact and reach of Technolgap.
  • About Us Page: A graphical representation of Technolgap's milestones and history, along with team member flip cards sorted by year.
  • Events Page: Functionality to support the four use cases detailed in the project requirements, providing comprehensive event information.
  • Conference Page: Tabs with corresponding details, including event schedules, FAQ, ticket information, and sponsor details sorted by sponsorship type.
  • Get Involved Page: Opportunities for sponsorship, speaker participation, and collaborations, organized by timeline and sponsorship level.
  • FAQ Page: A fully functional and interactive section for answering common questions and providing essential information.
  • Contact Page: A functional contact form allowing users to reach out to the Technolgap team easily.
